Sunset House

Such a lovely stay. The room was very nice, the kitchen made me feel like home, and the balcony is perfect to watch the sunset!

The beds were extremely comfortable - I had the best nights sleep! The view from the house is unbelievable and it’s in such a beautiful area of the island

The doors on the bedrooms are extremely loud - need some rubber around the frames to stop people slamming them

The views are INCREDIBLE from the wrap around porch on the second level and the rooftop terrace, so plan to be at the house for sunset sometimes. The price is extremely affordable compared to other places on the island, and it is convenient with easily accessible parking along the street. They have eggs from the chickens on the property available for guests, and the kitchen for guests is large with a fridge and has items available for cooking. Oh, and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful; they give great advice about adventuring on the island.

The location was perfect. Also the house is beautifully decorated and very clean. The hosts were also very welcoming. We loved our stay.

You need a car

The owners are excellent hosts, they are very helpful and ready to meet your needs at a moment’s notice! We had a fantastic stay here to remember! The location is secluded and has a very peaceful feel if you are looking for a quiet stay.

This accommodation is off the beaten path so you really do need a car as taxis don’t work here and there is no public transport and even the closest amenities are a (quite tiring!) walk away.

Location was great. A very quiet, clean and cozy house with stunning views over Arco da Calheta. A long terrace on each floor. There is also a veg garden and we were given avocado and some local fruits. The hosts were professional and very kind. Renting a car is definitely recommended when visiting Madeira. The island exceeded my expectations. Beautiful place and beautiful people. We would love to come back.
