La Caveja

We loved the property. It was simply stunning with the gardens and the decor. Feeling of true Italy was present without all the tourist busy. The staff and owners were incredibly attentive to all of our needs and making sure we were very comfortable. The food and dining experience was outstanding!

It was very hot when we were there. Temperatures were almost 37 degrees celsius. The room was a bit warmer than I would have liked BUT these temperatures were above normal and only lasted a couple of days.

Very friendly staff. Delicious food and wine in the restaurant. We were the only ones in the hotel, they were efficiently getting ready according to our timings. A short drive to the abandoned castle of the town was worth the visit. Quite a tight road and needs walking up the stairs in the last 5 minutes though.

The room was clean overall but the curtains in the room needed a bit of a deep clean, they were dusty.

This place is absolutely beautiful! The building was charming and perfectly situated.

We seemed to be staying when they were partly closed with few other guests, no breakfast and no one at the front desk. Not a big deal for us because we were visiting family in the area.

The shower leaked over the floor

We were a family of five. This accommodation exceeded our expectations. The entire facility was clean and attractive. Angelina the proprietor and Alba the cook could not have been more hospitable. Breakfasts were delicious as were the dinners served in their very attractive and comfortable dining room.

We arrived and the property entrance was open, however, nobody was attending it. We called the number in email and no one responded. We waited walked up the stars and all over the property, called for help & no one replied. The keys were in the front door & no attendant available. We have been traveling all day, are tired and need a place to sleep. Made this reservation and could not find anyone to help. Very irresponsible management. Highly disappointed. This place should be taken off your list. Anyone could enter and rob the patrons. All The room keys were easily accessible and visible on the wall behind the front desk.

We never got to stay because of the above described reasons

They were so so sooooooo kind even i can't speak italian well. And the breakfast, mountain view from the room window, everything are peaceful and good attitudes. I'm impressed about this hotel and this town! When i have a chance again, why not? worth it!

My personal opinion is preparation car or other things. Not by foot... but it's not this hotel's fault. It's just natural happen for teavelers😂

Choosing La Caveja in Pietravairano for a 4-night stay was one of the best decisions I made during my recent 4-week trip. The facility was perfectly located and spotless, the restaurant was one of the best in the area; the common areas of the hotel (restaurant, lounge areas, and gardens) were tasteful, historic, and comfortable; but the hotel’s staff (especially one amazingly helpful individual) made my stay one of the most memorable experiences I have had in 25 years of European travel. From my initial, booking correspondence, to my multiple days of travel in the area, this amazing woman demonstrated hospitality, generosity, and intelligence that made my last days in Italy both memorable and highly productive (This was a work-related research trip, and her knowledge of the area was noteworthy). Yes, I can recommend staying at La Caveja, but it’s the people you meet during your travels that make any reservation worthwhile.

The lack of restaurants in the area. The building is beautifully historic with a 300-year-old flavor but the 1980s room renovations are now looking a bit dated.
