Mashamba Country House

My stay at Mashamba was very unpleasant, the room was dirty, wardroo has so much dust inside and it seems broken as well. The kettle I had kept dropping the main switch. The staff never answered my phone when I needed assistance so I always had to walk to reception when I needed help which was very inconvenient.

The pillows was very hard to use. Bathroom does not have a light. Blanket not comfortable to use, it was those heavy blaket. We were given a plastic teaspoon to use. They ask us how much did we paid before they gave us a room. But they welcomed us. They were so friendly.

The staff there are good, good also good. when it comes to room cleanliness they are trying their best, but they use low quality toilet papers, no candarele in the room, I m diabetic so I do not use pure sugar

Environment is friendly and welcoming, few things to look at, one towel per room is not enough, quality of toilet paper is poor, ceiling in room A8 is falling and headboard is peeling and dirtying the pillows. Receiption was good

First we didnt find towels,when we request we were given 1 torn towel. The shower mat was wet underneath. The shower water was bad, one cannot balance the temperature. In short we didnt get value for our money

Had to moved couple of times because the rooms were not ready. The reception is l;little bit disorganized. i suggest they review their customer service training as no wants to take responsibility on getting rooms ready. Had to wait for more that 20 minutes to get allocated a room

One would expect with a pre booking that a room would be checked before arrival of the guest and that everything like remotes and aircon would work. Not so. We had to wait 30 minutes at check-in, and then another hour whilst a room where the aircon did work was found. Then the towel rail collapsed onto the floor...This sort of shabbiness and lack of attention to detail is not acceptable in a place calling itself a "country house".

If you are fine with cockroaches enjoy. We could hear the neighbors. Stale smell in the room. R300 is a suitable price for this place definitely not R900. The sink had cold water. No drinking water. No toiletries, only shower cap. No wifi.

I was made to wait 2 hours at reception while I was being told I never booked,when they finally checked on the system they found that I had booked and they gave away my room already so I had to pay extra for another room. All this while the staff was very unprofessional
