A nice and quiet place

This location is very rural and remote, we knew this at the time of booking but unfortunately we could not a hire car so had to arrive by Uber. This property really requires a car as there is no way of accessing local amenities or shops and there is nothing on site. The nature is beautiful and the staff are very helpful, however is was very tricky to stay here without a car! which was absolutely our fault.

We could not work the aircon and Portugal was experiencing a heatwave for spring so it was unseasonably hot - because of the natural location there where alot of flies and mosquitoes so we had to stay inside with the doors and windows closed which made it quite stuffy at night.

It is a paradise for eco-conscious travellers. The dedication to sustainability, immersive nature and exceptional service make it a great destination at an affordable price. I wholeheartedly recommend this eco-resort to anyone looking for an eco-conscious, restorative, and unforgettable vacation.

Lack of window blackouts in the accommodation resulted in us waking up with the early sunrise each day.

Everything. The bungalow is comfortable and has everything needed. Love the natural swimming pool. To add up the staff are very friendly, professional and always willing to provide the best experience. I simple love it and will return for sure. Was a great break from the “concrete jungle” 🙂

Quiet and very relaxing: even though secluded we felt safe. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable and clean room.

Formigas no lodge

Quiet lodge in the middle of the woods but close to everything (<20min). Not a hotel (which is clearly stated on their website) so don't expect amenities or services, just a clean small 1bedroom apartment with a balcony. And the road, despite being dirt, is very doable and quick, not an issue to me. Lastly, mosquitos did not bother me at all, they only come at night, and it's common in the region. I had dinner at Quinta da Comporta, a fancy hotel, and was eaten by bugs when the sun came down.

It's very well done and still in a good condition but we can notice the lodge is starting to look a bit tired. Not critical though.

Nothing, only one improvement would be the bikes as they all had flat tyres, broken seats etc but I didn’t realise they were available until I arrived so all good since we weren’t expecting them
