Clean place, friendly staff

It was a bit cold, but it was also a general problem for the whole city

What lovely people. They treated us as guests in their home, not customers and sharing breakfast with them was a delight. We arrived disgracefully late thanks to a delayed train but even so the welcome was warm Seeing our bags, the owner insisted on driving us to the metro station, though I am sure he had more important things to do. We paid for a private bathroom (not every room has one); the room that came with it was gigantic, with a walk-in wardrobe the size of a small hotel room, big bathroom and wonderful four poster bed. There was a dining table stacked with fruit and other food but even so most of the floor space was clear. The accommodation is in an apartment block and the owner lives downstairs. It's a fifteen minute walk from Turkiston metro station but don't let that put you off; it's a pleasant stroll and the Tashkent metro is quick.
