Bali Aman Darling House

Location was excellent. In central Canggu on a quiet road and about 10minutes to the beach. Walking distance to all shops, bars, lounges, clubs and restaurants

I had my vacation ruined by having to listen to extreme construction noise the whole day from both inside the hotel and in the property next to the hotel. The noise starts at 8 and keeps going until the night, so you won’t get to sleep, relax or work inside the property. It’s not even worth using the pool because of the extreme level of noise and workers going in and out of hotel. The hotel does not inform you about the ongoing construction when checking in, and refuse to give any refund or discount afterwards for the inconvenience, so you will trapped to stay there. (I suggested a solution for a discounted price for the inconvenience but the blankly refused). Some extra points to note: The kitchen in the room is basically a joke, with almost no way of making anything other than boiling some water. I had to argue with them for 2 days just to get a proper pan, where they first kept telling me to buy it myself. In the bathroom the bathtub was leaking and not retaining water, so you can basically not use it for more than a few minutes without refilling it, but then there will be no more hot water left. The sink also leaks water all over the floor. (They tried to fix the problems in the bathroom but did not really help). The aircondition also really struggles to cool down the room, but if you put it all the way down, then it will eventually cool the room down enough.

Decent location for the price.

Bugs. Cockroaches. Ants. Wasps. Stayed in 2 different rooms after asking to switch. It’s the type of place where the room is practically outside. There’s small windows with only a screen in between the room and outside, but the screens are old and have holes in them. I found a wasps nest in my second room after I asked to move from my first room because of cockroaches. DON’T EAT in the room if you stay there. Even if you clean up very well, quickly ants or cockroaches show up almost immediately. Im surprised this place has so many good reviews because it was so uncomfortable.

This property is a little sanctuary in such a busy destination. A total gem and the photos for not do it justice. It's so lovely, very comfortable and conveniently located.

Unwelcome and incompetent receptionist (I had to wait for my check in at the empty lobby in scorching sun). The owner overcharged me for stay. No help with luggage. Construction noise and banging into the adjacent wall all day. Cockroach infested room. Mold smell everywhere. Dirty kitchen and utensils- I didn’t even want to touch anything
