Hostal Casa Huasteca

The staff was the best part of our stay at Hostal Casa Huasteca. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, and especially Claudia, told us many beautiful places to visit (as well as where not to visit) and was great fun to chat to at the end of the day. The breakfast was delicious and very enjoyable to eat in the beautiful common area.

Claudia is an absolute gem and made my stay at the hostel truly unforgettable. Her hardworking nature is evident in the way she ensures everything runs smoothly, always going the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. What really stands out about Claudia is her warm-hearted and caring personality. She treats every guest with kindness and respect, creating a home-like atmosphere that sets this hostel apart. Whether it was a simple chat or a request for assistance, Claudia always approached it with genuine care and a smile. Her intelligence and resourcefulness are equally impressive. No matter what questions I had—whether about local attractions, transportation, or even random curiosities—Claudia always had the answers, often going out of her way to provide additional tips and advice. Claudia is a true asset to the hostel, and her presence elevates the entire experience. I can’t thank her enough for making my stay so enjoyable, and I highly recommend this hostel to anyone lucky enough to be welcomed by Claudia’s warmth and expertise!

Still my favourite stop on the way to and from Canada. Clean and comfortable with kind and intelligent staff and a beautiful garden. Easy booking for tours to nearby waterfalls. Car rental next door.

The rattan chairs are getting a little worn and with a sore back from driving a garden hammock would have been welcome. Not a complaint. Just a suggestion. Most guests are out touring all day, but I was in no shape to go jumping off waterfalls or river rafting so I spent more time than most in the hostel.

Well designed and equipped hostel. The palapa and garden area are beautiful. Good Wifi. Coffee and pan dulce waiting for you in the morning. Lovely and helpful host Claudia makes everyone feel welcome.
