Mida Creek Eco Camp

I really liked being at that side of the creek and being able to enjoy the nature there. The camp has a few nice spots to chill out, and the environment is relaxed and friendly. The excursions that they offered were great ways of getting to know more about the wildlife and plants in Mida Creek and Arabuko Sokoke Forest with really knowledgeable guides. Besides, very good value for money.

I noticed that a few areas might benefit from some extra organization and maintenance. For example, some of the hanging beds/hammocks were not usable because their hanging cords were broken. A little attention to these details would be greatly appreciated.

Frederic and his team were very helpful and friendly and come from the local village that the Ecocamp supports. The closeness to the creek is a real plus and being able to swim when the tide is high. Frederic organised a local trip to Arabuko Sakoke forest to see elephants at the swamp which was amazing. Ecocamp is a simple, back to nature experience. If you want luxury this isn’t the place for you. It is for you if you want an experience in a beautiful natural location that supports the local community. We stayed longer than planned as it was so relaxing.

We weren’t able to have the hut we requested, as it wasn’t available. We understand this but were a little disappointed.

Very priceworthy community-run. Benson helped to arrange an excellent birdguide for me.

The locals are very nice. They like to talk and explain. Very relaxed place and easy to go around. Close to the creek. Good seafood.
