If you want to get away from the “big box chain “ hotels and stay on a more private-owned property, this is your place! We stayed in March when it was cold and nature wasn’t awake yet but we totally saw the vision of the owners. We stayed in Number 6 which was a stand-alone efficiency-type room which had all the amenities including fully stocked kitchenette, very large bathroom and comfortable living space for the stay. Free WiFi available on site though it was spotty (for my Apple phone) but not needed for our stay. Roku tv was very good. The property was quiet and pleasant. The owners are currently getting ready to install a pool and new hottub(s). Definitely some additions being added to beautify the property and we could totally see their vision! The property is right along side a good sized river and we saw fish jumping, geese floating down the river and deer walking along side - definitely a serene atmosphere. There are chickens and roosters on site and a very friendly cat walking the property. The owners have a beautiful pink bird on site - “Maggie” (Sorry, I don’t recall if we asked what kind but reminds me of a parrot) and he is very sweet and friendly! There was a birthday party that took place on site and we never heard them - the property and people were so respectful of their customers. The price was great (and we think the owners could raise the price based upon the comfort and amenities provided!) We were told that if you come in July, the property is abundant with gardens and even some pick-your-own berries, free to the people who stay overnight. Definitely worthy of a come-back stay! In true review, we are big-box hotel customers, so when we pulled up to our stay, we sat in the car and second-guessed our stay. We didn’t realize that this property was more on the family-owned and run - type of property and we had nervous energy (we need to get out of our box more lol). We said “ what the heck - let’s do it! And we are so very glad we did.
