Ramada by Wyndham Bristol West

Large ground floor room as i was not feeling well and still had 400 miles to travel. Nice large bathroom with bath and shower and nice comfortable bed.

Having to pay to park but im tight and it was only £5.99

Because we booked via booking.com was a little disappointed we then had to pay for parking ontop. Breakfast was great and you acccepted our grandson last miniute. He loved the room

I did not state a preference during booking for a quiet room as you have stated above, I asked for a walk-in shower, which was provided.

I didn't like being on the ground floor as a lone female. After making this booking, I had been made aware while staying in another hotel chain that a lone female in a ground floor room had been raped, and that they now have a policy to give lone females upstairs rooms. The Ramada was full upstairs and I had not requested it so I can't really complain about that, but what I am complaining about is that although the windows appeared secure, the locks were broken and did not engage. Being on the ground floor, that scared me. The helpful member of staff who checked me in gave me a different room, but the window lock in that room was also broken. However, it was on the other side of the building near the entrance and felt a bit more overlooked and therefore marginally safer, and I could not be bothered to ask for another room, as it looked like it would not be any better. Another thing that could be improved is being up front on the booking website about what the charge for parking is (£5 per day is not going to put anyone off booking, but not knowing how much it is could put someone off, and it did take a few days for my question to be answered). It would also be reassuring to know that it is OK to park anywhere in the services car park if the hotel parking area is full (or if you miss the turn into the hotel, which is first right after the roundabout).
