Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Stes Port Clinton-Catawba Island by IHG

Property not worth the money. Shower leaked, no hot water and black mold.

Staff was very friendly- bathrooms are very small. Room overall was clean. One bed was terrible, creaky every time you moved.

I booked on hotels.com for a 2 bed queen suite with a pull out couch. Paid 190.98. When we arrived I was told they were out of that style room and we would need to go to a lower room (2 queen beds, NO pull out couch) we wanted the couch since there was 5 of us, but we didn’t really have another option. The front desk girl was nice and said she would only charge me 79$ plus tax (the paradise price) I agreed and we checked in. After checkout I noticed I was charged full price. I reached out to hotels.com several times and was told there’s nothing they can do. Even though when we checked in a signed a paper form agreeing to the 79$ Basically, I paid double what I should have and the hotel and hotels.com refused to make it right. I never asked for a full refund. Just wanted to pay what I was quoted. Anyway, the hotel got and extra 100$ out of me so hopefully this review can help someone avoid the same thing. When I checked out that morning I even asked the new front desk clerk what my total would be and was told that she didn’t know and couldn’t tell me. All around terrible experience.

Staff seemed undertrained. TV didn’t work. This is the second stay where this was the case. Location is great and convenient.

Loved our stay!

They have comfy, clean rooms with friendly hotel staff. The pool was heated and breakfast was a decent continental style. I would stay again for a Put-In -Bay visit
