William Macintosh Motor Lodge

We only stayed one night but it was clean comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and chatty, which makes for a nice welcome. We didn't get to the restaurant because we decided to go for a walk and didn't make it back. We would stay again if we are down that way again.

Beautiful property at a fabulous location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great restaurant. The only thing is that the rooms (whilst clean) are looking quite aged and tired and need refurbishment. The AC was loud and clunky and did not work very well, unfortunately. But overall for the price, it was just what we needed for our over night stay travelling to Victoria.

It had a nice country view and the restaurant was good.

The owners of the hotel gave away our room to a tour company as they 'requested rooms at the last minute'. The hotel forced us to stay at another hotel without even bothering to call us and notify us before we arrived. There was nothing we could do, and there were no alternatives offered. I heard from the other hotel that in total, 6 groups of individual bookings were treated the same way. Unacceptable.

Comfortable and pleasant with good reverse-cycle air con. Bathroom recently updated. Microwave provided which was a bonus. I would stay at this motel again - it is good for travellers, although not luxurious.

Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation

We received a warm welcome and our room had recently had a bathroom renovation. Unfortunately the room next door was being upgraded and the noise of old tiles being removed with a small jack hammer continued all afternoon. Dinner in the restaurant was enjoyable as was breakfast the next day.

It was ideal for a one night stay. Food was good too.

The William Mac. has a long history of great service; ever since I lived at Naracoorte in the mid to late 70’s. The new managers will do extremely well. They are happy, personable, efficient and are working hard to upgrade various parts of the rooms/ property. Everyone was kind and interested in chatting. Along with the new bathroom/ rain shower I’d suggest adding a shelf for soap/ shampoo in the shower recess and face washers near the basin. This will likely be a priority under the new ownership; a check on the compliance dates for the hairdryers. Thanks for a warm and cosy stay.
