Cawthorne House

Pascal and Cathrine House is exactly what you hope for from a great B&B! Lovely room, good bed, great shower and a great breakfast with a very friendly host. If we come back to Pickering we would definitely stay again!

Had a wonderful stay at Cawthorne House. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there were lots of little extras provided, including cookies and some fizz and little snack on arrival. Pascal is a excellent host and cooked a delicious breakfast. When you could also have cereal, fruit and his lovely soda bread. Cawthorne House is 5-10 minutes from the town centre and lots of interesting shops and pubs. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay. Pascal is super, great host, fantastic food, beautiful hotel, very friendly family. This is the only place that we will stay at in Pickering

We had a lovely time. Pascal was very welcoming and his family too . Bubbly and canapés on arrival was a lovely touch . Room very comfortable, had everything we needed. Breakfast was great especially the home made Sourdough. We would definitely stay again.

This was my wife's stay and she said: I had a delightful stay at Cawthorne House. I had a lovely room with a very comfortable bed. The glass of bubbles and canapes on arrival were very welcome. The breakfast was amazing - Pascal's sourdough bread and scrambled eggs in particular were amazing. And the homemade cookies! I hope to return with Ian in the future.

My partner and i chose Cawthorne House on the strength of the excellent reviews we read, and I'm pleased to say that we were not disappointed! From the helpful correspondence sent after we booked, to the warm and friendly welcome we received on arrival - including canapes and a glass of bubbly - Pascal made our short stay truly enjoyable. The house itself is situated in a lovely street with easy walking access to Pickering town centre, and the Yorkshire coast within a half hour drive. A lovely clean room with excellent facilities and a cooked breakfast that was second to none! Although we were only away for a few days, It felt like proper break thanks to the excellent service provided and we'd have no hesitation in choosing Cawthorne House when we plan our next Yorkshire trip. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our 2 night stay was excellent. Cawthorne House is a lovely building, full of character with traditional decor. We were made to feel welcome from the off and appreciated the extra touch of fizz and canapés and homemade cookies which Pascal provided. The owner is extremely personable - a Yorkshireman with a French name. We chose Pickering as a base to explore North Yorkshire on our motorcycle but we were disappointed to find the town had declined somewhat since our last visit, with many of the shops closed. Breakfast was a delight and certainly lived up to all the positive reviews. We were in room 4, a double at the rear and my only slight negative was the bathroom fan was noisy and stayed on for too long. On the plus side, it was very quiet and we were able to keep an eye on our motorcycle parked at the back of the building. Our experience overall was very pleasant indeed.

From the welcome of home made cookies, glasses of fizz and canapés to the wonderful breakfasts with Pascal’s freshly baked sourdough bread we couldn’t have asked for more. We had a wonderful Yorkshire holiday but our stay at Cawthorne House was definitely the highlight. If you’re staying in or near Pickering, this is the place to be.

We have been to Cawthorne House several times now & it never disappoints. Pascal and his family are always welcoming. Not many B&B’s greet you with homemade cookies glass of Prosecco & homemade canapés!Fabulous location close to some beautiful places to visit. We would definitely recommend 👍
