Apex Dunblane Hydro

I was extremely disappointed with my stay. My original room was positioned directly beside the lift and close to an event taking place within the hotel. Throughout the night I could hear people coming and going, music from the event, and noise from the bar area, including glasses being cleared late into the evening. The room also had an adjoining door which did not appear to provide adequate sound insulation, and I could clearly hear conversations from neighbouring guests as well as being woken during the night by noise from the adjoining room's bathroom. When I raised these concerns, staff were very helpful and quickly arranged an alternative room, which I appreciated. However, the replacement room was located at the rear of the hotel, a considerable distance from my mother, whose 82nd birthday we were there to celebrate. The room overlooked the car park and was directly beside a construction site. As a result, I experienced significant construction noise during the day, and was again woken by construction workers on Sunday morning. This stay was intended to be a special birthday surprise for my mother, and I had spent a significant amount of money on the weekend. Unfortunately, due to the noise issues in both rooms, I got very little sleep and the experience fell far below my expectations. I am hugely disappointed with the overall standard of accommodation provided and do not feel I received the relaxing and enjoyable stay that I had booked and paid for.

Beautiful Grand hotel, stunning grounds, comfortable room and friendly staff

Restraunt menu was very limited i would have liked to see more simple choices felt too fancy. Pool facilities where run down and felt more like a local pool than a hotel spa experience

It was beautiful and historic. The beds were comfy. The shower was nice and hot The meal in the dining room was delicious The bar snacks were good The leisure centre was also good and much appreciated

I would have liked to know more about the history of the building

Very good experience. Very clean, pool etc very good and staff very helpful.

Unfortunately, with the kitchen and restaurant being upgraded the evening menu was very limited.
