Hampton Inn East Lansing

Unexpected over nite stay, traveled the nite before & really didn’t sleep, decided to stay in E. Lansing during a stop on the way home-too exhausted to complete the journey home. The hotel was clean & the bed comfy, it was stormy/rainy weather-so a good nite to relax & get rested up to be able to complete the journey ho, the next day-better safe than sorry! Will choose this hotel in the future if I decide to attend any classes at local close by quilt merchant & stay in E. Lansing!

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I wasn't actually on the property very long as I was in town on business.

I have no complaints. I do think the parking lot could have a little better lighting.

The room was a little outdated, could use new bedding smelled a little musty! Couch was very old and stained.

We were disappointed in this hotel, we expected more from the Hilton brand. It began with Patricia at check in. She informed us that our reservation, State Government rate, would not be honored because we were not Michigan residents. We told her that we have never encountered this at other Hilton/Hampton Inn hotels across the nation. She stated that it is mentioned in the rate details. We pulled the details up and asked her to show this to us, as we could not find it. She refused. Patricia is very unprofessional and needs some training on how to provide proper customer service. We ended up staying the one night we booked for. We went to our room and discovered many housekeeping/maintenance issues- 1.) the carpet had not been vacuumed (food pieces/crumbs on floor) or cleaned leaving the bottoms of our feet black, 2.) shower wall shampoo/conditioner containers were empty, 3.) shower water temp was just about lukewarm, 4.) bed pillows were small and lumpy, and 5.) there was broken furniture, coming apart in some places- would just require some wood glue to repair. We did appreciate the complimentary breakfast. There was plenty of hot and cold food and drink options available. There are restaurants and a grocery close by and they have free parking- which is nice.

The staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Particularly Rene. However, we were not informed that the hotel does not provide daily cleaning service and when we requested it we were denied

Staff was great; location ideal; rooms were fine. I wound up being charged $100 more than my Orbitz account told me I would be.
