Baymont by Wyndham Dubuque

Overall teh stay was a good experience. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is the breakfast was disappointing. No protein options at all. Had waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy which were both good as well as cold cereal and breads. No eggs, meat yogurt or fruit was available on either day of our 2 day stay.

Hotel needs a remodel(OLD).Door looked like someone tried to pry it open. Room was not very clean, there were cobwebs in all four corners of the room and in the bath room. I was very disappointed with the stay over all.

The parking lot was lit.

Did not care for the dead big , maybe a roach in the bed. When we got moved to another room it was any better.

We booked a 5-day stay at the Baymont by Wyndham in Dubuque, Iowa through a third-party booking agency. We knew that if we cancelled, we would be responsible for payment. We checked in on Friday, August 29. As we moved into the room, we noticed a couple of things that concerned us, but nothing by itself that would cause us to move. The side door to the facility had key card access but the reader was either damaged or purposely disabled and the door did not lock so provided no security. Also, in our room, the security chain/tab was broken and added no additional security. We decided to just place a chair in front of the door while we slept. Unfortunately, this did not keep out all of our visitors. Early Saturday morning we were awakened by something on our face which we just thought was a fly. We turned on the light and found a cockroach crawling across our bed. We captured it and killed it and took it to the front desk. We decided to check out. Though this was a non-cancellable reservation we believed that we deserved a clean and safe room, and we had not been provided with that and therefore we requested a refund for the rest of the reservation. The clerk said that since we had booked through and paid a third-party booking agency, we would have to go back through that agency to get a refund. We called the booking agency and told them what had happened, and they said that they would contact the motel and see if they could get us a refund. The agency called us back and said that the motel refused to give any kind of refund. We provided the agency with additional information about the stay and a photo of the roach. They contacted the motel again but were unable to obtain any kind of refund from the motel. The booking agency did give us a partial refund because we were a long time customer of theirs, but it was significantly less than what we paid for the reservation. My recommendation is to never stay at the Baymont motel in Dubuque, Iowa and I personally will not stay in any Baymont hotel.

The first room given was not clean...the beds were not made, the tv was disconnected, the room smelled, etc. The upgrade to the suite was ok...but, the toliet seat was broke...I told the front desk but, didn't got fixed. We were chastised for using the waffle maker incorrectly.

Normally, we don’t stay in a hotel with less than a 4.0 guest rating, but, due to a nearby music festival, our choices were limited. Yes, there were stains on the carpet, chair, and ironing board, and the property was dated. The beds in our room were also a bit concave. It is a budget hotel. But the bedding and bathroom were clean. No dust in the room. Floors were vacuumed. I felt comfortable and safe sleeping there. And Kim is as charming and friendly as the other reviewers say. She deserves 5 stars.

the room smelt musty and dirty almost unbearable to sleep in but we got into town after 10 and due to the concert in town there was not many options for a hotel room and they allow pets which I dont agree with for a hotel

Checking in was okay, but thing went downhill from there. After checking in we noticed that the side door to the building had key card access, but it was broken so it provided no security at all. Additionally, the security chain/lever for the door in our room was broken off. We slept with a chair against the door. Unfortunately, this did not keep all visitors away as we woke up in the early morning and felt something crawl across our faces, but thought it was just a fly. We found a roach crawling across the bed and killed it. We were booked for 5 days so we went to the front desk told them we were checking out and asked for a refund for the rest of our stay. They said that since we had booked through a third party we would have to go through them. Expedia contacted the motel twice trying to get a refund from the motel and were not successful. We did book it knowing that there was no refund for cancellation, but we cancelled the rest of our stay because the motel was not clean and safe and because of that we should have gotten a refund. I would not recommend staying at this Baymont Inn and I personally will never stay at another Baymont.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were warm, friendly, and always ready to help, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of fresh options to start the day right. The pool area was clean, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding. Our room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations – highly recommended!
