Das Penck-Ambiente

Im Zimmer fehlte die Sitzgelegenheit.

I liked living in an art gallery. I liked the art of Penck and the education/reminder of recent history. The room was comfortable and uniquely designed. It was also a good size. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very helpful. We rented bikes at reception and ride along the Elbe river. Off the beaten path a bit but close to transport.

All good.

Would have been helpful and convenient if a restraurant was available to provide evening meals.

Wir haben am Oberelbe-Marathon teilgenommen und waren auf ein früheres Frühstück angewiesen. Das hat das Hotel möglich gemacht, wir konnten bereits 06:30 Uhr frühstücken. Wir waren auch nicht die einzige, vielen Dank nochmals.

Zimmer zur Straßenseite. War gegen morgen ziemlich laut, die Straßenbahn fährt am Hotel vorbei. Also, Fenster zu. Leider lief die Klimaanlage auch nicht gut, sodass der Schlaf ziemlich unruhig war...

Das größte Plus des Hotels ist die Lage. Das Haus liegt im "Hotelspeckgürtel" um die Altstadt herum. Die wegen sind kurz. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Altstadt sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die Zufahrt zum Hotel ist gut zu finden. Die Tiefgarage des Hotel ist gut befahrbar. 20 Euro pro Tag sind kein Schnäppchen . Aber anscheinend in der Gegend üblich. Hier sieht die Bequemlichkeit. Unser Zimmer war gut und ansprechend. Einzig die Sanitäranlagen und die Dusche bedürfen einer Frischekur. Hier ist schon etwas der Lack ab.

The room was spacious, lights and clean. The location was very good an easily accessible by tram or train although it was easy to walk too if you're reasonably fit. We're in our 80s but probably fitter than most and we found it an easy walk. The staff were really helpful and kind and even the other guests were lovely. Staff recommended a German restaurant close by and what a treat that was too.
