Good coffee, good breakfast

Free parking is always appreciated. Paid parking at places can be a hassle. I am glad there was a pool. Everything was well done. The best thing was everywhere was carpeted so my dog, who doesn't like floors, had no trouble.

The young woman at the desk was very welcoming and later when we needed assistance with the coffee machine—she went out of her way to help. She even brought up a new machine. It turned out that the plug didn’t work for either the keurig nor the hair dryer. Reported it to the gentleman at the desk this morning.

Location was easy to find. The price was good.

Something must have been wrong with the air/ heating system. I woke up on Friday night and the air/ heating system was extremely loud and didn’t seem to be working. The bathroom also smelled of urine.

Breakfast was great

Room and bathroom not clean bathroom tiles have black stuff not sure if it was mold and bugs. Supposedly a bar and grill but supposedly closed on Sundays

The third vendor app said this hotel was pet friendly to come to find out.They won't take cats and that was at two thirty in the morning , so we had to go find another hotel. I think they. Expected me to leave the cat in the car and it was in the thirties. The guy said he would get the charge waved- will update.

The hotel would not honor my reservation. We had a medical emergency when we arrived in Eau Claire and couldn't check in until the next morning. When I explained what happened they refused to let me use the reservation I had already paid for and wanted me to book and pay again.

Overall, horrible experience. Checkin was fine and quick. Room appeared clean, though there was some hair in tub and loose toilet seat--I cleaned the tub and fixed the toilet seat--no biggie. When I originally made reservation, I asked specifically if there is daily housekeeping and was told that there definitely is. However, when I returned back to my room later in the day after my first night's stay, my room was not serviced. I spoke to the woman at the front desk (unfortunately did not get her name), and she told me that the rooms are only serviced every other day. I told her that this was different than I was initially told, but accepted her explanation and assumed that my room would be serviced the next day. I also asked her if I needed to request that the room be serviced, and she stated that it was not necessary. The next day when I returned after about 3PM, my room was not serviced. I again asked at the front desk. This time a different agent (believe her name was Kaylie) told me that you have to request room cleaning--different than what the agent told me the day before. Luckily, it was still early enough and Kaylie was able to get housekeeping to service my room. Housekeeping did a good job with the room. I also requested to talk with the manager--Ketul Patel. Kaylie said that he was not in, but she texted him with my request (and I physically saw her do the text). By 8 PM, I had not heard any response. Therefore, I again asked at the front desk--this time Brooklyn was working front desk--She called Mr Patel who told her he would contact me in 20 minutes. 2 hours later, I still heard nothing. Once again, I checked at front desk, and now Logan was working. When I asked him about the situation and when I can expect to hear back from Mr Patel, He immediately raised his voice and told me that I was being rude. Unfortunately, his response is most likely related to his inability to try to help the situation--perhaps extra training by Best Western to help with his inexperience, coping mechanisms and anger management might help. Anyways, he did say he would contact Mr Patel once more. Again, I received no response. When, I checked out the following day, Brooklyn again was working front desk. I asked her about the situation, and she said that Mr Patel was in the hotel last evening, but did not want to bother me in case I was sleeping. What a weak response! And, of course, he was unavailable that morning of checkout. I do want to compliment the man who was working breakfast detail--he was very pleasant and quick to make sure tables were clean and breakfast supplies replenished--no small task especially during the crowded breakfast time. However, I still give this establishment 1 star due to the very poor front desk and management response. If management doesn't care about customer service, then this hotel will continue to suffer. This is very unusual for Best Western, as my experience in the past with Best Western has been generally good. There are multiple other good motels/hotels in Eau Claire area, and I will choose another establishment when I return to Eau Claire.
