Garner Hotel Aiken South by IHG

Our trip to the Garner Hotel has been very disappointing to say the least. When checking in we provided documentation for our service animal. Documents were verified 11/22 and identification of being a service member (Veteran). We arrived at about 0230 hours. The next morning, we are awoken at about 0900 for hospitality, as you can imagine we were not awake or ready to receive services. When we did depart the room for the day there was no hospitality staff to clean our room. So, our second evening we did not have a clean room to come back to. Third day I contact front desk to please provide servicing, no one from hospitality came until after noon, is there no schedule? Our room was picked up however, the shower caddy came off the wall that was not fixed and we did not get fresh sheets after our third night… hospitality just made the bed no clean sheets. The front desk hostess who claimed to be a manager Cindy, followed my boyfriend and I when she saw we had an animal with us. This is the third night, she claims that there was no note in the system for our service animal and even went to the extent to lie and say she checked us in, when she did not. Since it seemed to be an issue we brought our paperwork again for verification, and when we told her were Veterans, she told us “It does not matter.” This is not only very poor customer service, but we experienced being targeted by staff. Also, after asking for fresh sheets we had to make our bed, something that also should have been done by staff. This is the worst hotel stay we have ever had and as an IHG Members we should not have been treated this way. I surely would hope no other guests have to go through this.

I loved that the lady from the front desk was so welcoming. She was very friendly, The hotel was very clean. I had requested a lower floor due to issue with a bad knee bothering me at the time and they met that request. The coffee bar was great. The entrance smelled like a coffee shop as soon as I walked through the door and it was 24/7. Not like most hotel cheap coffee that you could read the newspaper through. There was good shampoo/Conditioner/ readily available. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. I visit Aiken a lot and this is my go to for a hotel stay.

The thermostat in the room didn't seem to work properly. It was rather cool the night I stayed and the heat kicked on but not often enough an not when I set the thermostat. I do believe there was a issue with it. Not enough of an issue to keep me from staying again.

Perfect central Aiken location, right off Whisky Road; front desk staff is super friendly and helpful; rooms were clean (minus a couple of small inconsistencies

Some of the “clean” white hotel towels had embedded human hair and yellow spots/stains on them; shower also had a human hair in it - presumably from the prior guest

The best thing to be said about this property is the room, maintenance gal Doty she went above and beyond

Most of the other staff is rude and considerate and argumentative

Clean, convenient for guests, good breakfast, easy in/out for handicap, spacious room, pleasant employees.

A couple of people speaking loudly in the hall woke us in the middle of the night.

Friendly professional check in,nice modern clean room, coffee available 24/7,breakfast appreciated.Cindy at front desk was informative and kind she made us feel very welcome! 😁🤗

Bathroom door in room SUPER SQUEAKY as a senior woke my hubby up several times during the nite....
