First of all, the peace of the resort, the gardens, the trees, the birdsong, everything was wonderful, I loved it, words can't describe it. The breakfast was good, but the lunch and dinner options were marvelous, all the dishes were wonderfully delicious.

There's just one thing, the gym needs new equipment.

We recently stayed at Sugar Cane Hotel and Spa in Barbados. The setting itself is absolutely beautiful, the view over the garden/jungle is stunning, and seeing monkeys from your balcony is truly special.

Unfortunately, the service experience was very inconsistent. Staff were either very friendly or extremely unfriendly, there was no middle ground. The woman at reception, in particular, was shockingly unhelpful and unfriendly. We have honestly never experienced anything like it. Rooms and towels are not cleaned or refreshed daily, and when we asked for clean towels, we were told we would have to pay extra, which is quite surprising. A very concerning issue occurred when our toilet overflowed during the night, leaving the bathroom floor completely flooded. There was no one available to assist, neither during the night nor early in the morning. While security is present on-site, they are unable or not allowed to help. This raises serious concerns about guest safety, as in case of an emergency, it seems there is no one available to provide immediate assistance.

Mostly everything about the place, especially how proactive the staff are!

The bathroom could have been cleaner and more pleasant to the smell upon checking in. They should have better linens available to capture the excess water which easily escapes the shower stalls during showers.

All meals were well prepared and timely "Compliments to the Chefs". The servers were mostly pleasant. Our room was kept clean and our belongings were secure. The pool was salt water, cleaned daily. The front desk was prompt to phone us for any information we needed. Shuttle service was free drivers pleasant. They took care of me when I wasn't well coming from the glass bottom boat. Mr Martin was our captain and boy did he give us the experience of a lifetime telling a bit about historical events and buildings near the beaches; we swam with a beautiful turtle "which I got to touch". The the scene was perfect even though I got seasick shortly after. My husband was very impressed with the ambiance of the premises and the landscaping. The Management and staff really paid attention to detail and we sure hope to visit again. A huge "THANK YOU" to all. From a Trinidadian and Guyanese couple.

A male bar tender at the poolside didn't like being addressed as "kind sir" when I asked for a beverage and was sure to let me know his name and pointed out his name tag. I called him by name after and he said "That's much better!" In front of my husband. I couldn't understand what was my offense and chose to leave it alone since I wasn't going to let that spoil my honeymoon.

The breakfast was outstanding and we had good service at breakfast by Ryan
