Grounds of the Hotel, the food is superb and easy access to the town centre.

Not really a criticism, but if you want to book treatments at the Spa, then this needs to be done well in advance; it's not clear when you book a room. This was the only thing we didn't take advantage of, but will know for next time.

We booked to stay for two days initially with our dog and enjoyed it so much we extended it for another day ( had to move rooms but this made effortless by the staff) We wanted a short break to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful - they really made our stay special. The food was fantastic we booked bed, breakfast and evening meal so we could go out and about and relax when we got back. At breakfast they brought a doggie breakfast along with the drinks and our dog loved it! The rooms were both spacious, and the added patio that allowed us to come and go from the room to the grounds was fantastic. We sat out on the terrace as the weather was very hot and watched the sun set. If we come again we will definitely book one of these rooms again it really made the stay. The pool and health facilities were excellent, as were the grounds. We did the walk around the outside of the grounds as per the map and this was weekly worth the effort. Looking forward to coming again.

Location and grounds

I booked a twin room but the room was a double with an extra camped set up. It was also very warm.

We were greeted by a very friendly reception team member. Our room was clean with the space we needed. The bed comfy with good bedding and pillows. The facilities were good. The bathroom was clean but in need of a bit of updating i.e. paintwork. The towels were really nice. Free products were a very nice touch, good quality. Loved this. We feel air con should be fitted as standard in all bedrooms. It would make a more comfortable stay. There was no air con in the restaurant and other bar areas either. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious and a great choice on the menu. Really good quality produce. The same for breakfast, the continental is outstanding. The best we have ever experienced. All the staff were very friendly. This was our second stay and we will be back. Thank you to all.

Air conditioning should be fitted in all bedrooms and communal areas.

Beautiful grounds even if you don't play golf. Room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very good with wide choice of food served in clean bright restaurant. The hotel is so handy for the Abbey and town, and very Very quiet. Very comfortable bed.

Only thing that would have been handy is a hook on back of bathroom door to hang robe on. Also a fan in room ,but I do understand that it was unexpectedly hot so wouldn't normally have needed one.
