The hotel's location was fit for purpose.

I booked a Deluxe Premium Room expecting a high-end "5 star" experience, but was given two single beds pushed together with a physical gap between them. Management tried to excuse this after my stay, in writing, by claiming that room options include "either a king-size bed (2x2 m) or two double beds", but as can be seen in my photos, it was clearly two single mattresses pushed together. The room window looked directly onto an industrial rooftop littered with construction debris, decaying, exposed insulation panels piled right up against the glass with a view of air conditioning machinery - not the riverside view I had anticipated! Furthermore, the hotel charges a hidden €15 per person fee to use the indoor pool, which wasn't disclosed on Booking.com. When I tried to resolve these issues in real-time over the weekend, my messages were completely ignored; management later admitted in writing that "As your stay took place over the weekend and this platform is managed entirely by the reservations department, which operates only on weekdays, we were unable to identify your concern in a timely manner." Management also questioned my integrity and the validity of my claims, even though I was able to back every single thing up with screenshots and photos. Booking.com did give me a small travel credit refund but this was a drop in the ocean in comparison to the €200.20 I paid for a very substandard experience. Despite admitting to these "shortcomings" and, because of my complaint, changing their policy of charging for the pool for future guests, they refused any partial refund and unilaterally closed the case. They did however offer me a 25% discount on a future stay... no thanks! Paying ~€150 for another underwhelming "5 star" experience I would still consider extortionate!
