"For £117, very disappointing."

4.0

Greeting at reception and breakfast Bed was fairly comfy

The hotel seemed very tired and in need of a lot of TLC Our room, 16, was very dated. No wall art. Needed painting. It was just not cosy. Old, very old, bathroom.

"Great food, great staff, great venue, great value."

10.0

We’ve been to Makeney Hall for afternoon tea on several occasions and this time was no different. A warm friendly greeting from staff, fresh, beautifully presented freshly prepared food, with a great balance between sweet and savoury. Generous portions (the staff kindly boxed our scones to take home for later) and plentiful tea and coffee. The tea is served in the conservatory which overlooks the gardens, providing a lovely view. Looking forward to our next visit.

"Nice stay in a lovely location, the hotel is a diamond in the rough, staff were nice."

6.0

Dinner was very nice. Breakfast was acceptable. The location and grounds were lovely.

The room was ok but the hotel could do with a make over as the rooms are starting to look dated with the bathroom requiring a definite re-vamp. The room was hot and we were unable to control the temperature as there wasn't any control heads on the thermostat valves on the radiators. We had to open the window to cool the room while the heating was on. The hotel switched the heating off for the second night which was ok but not the best way as other rooms may have been cold. The over bath shower wasn't very good

"Exellent"

10.0

Came for afternoon tea for a birthday. It was a large part but nothing was too much trouble. Our host Lisa was amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent and great value for money. I am a very picky eater and managed to Polish everything off! All diety requirements were well catered for. Already have plans to revisit!
