"Cozy stay "

Great stay. Do not think twice about booking. Great restaurants and shopping are just a short walk. The grounds are immaculate, the cottages and bungalows are cute cute cute. Reasonable rates assure this a new favorite.

Quiet, comfortable, with an old Santa Barbara vibe. Very nice spread for breakfast and walkable to the center district-if you like to walk. I’ll stay again.

I found the Upham hotel a beautiful place to stay. It is cozy and charming, while also having large rooms and excellent outdoor areas.

The restaurant was not open when we were there.

"Perfect Cottage Stay"

We stayed at the Upham the weekend our grandson got married at the old Santa Barbara Courthouse. We loved the location…away from the noise and traffic of State Street but within walking distance of the Courthouse, La Arcada and LOTS of great places to eat. We rented the Sycamore cabin and our family came to “hang out” with us as we had tons of lovely private patio seating as well as a nice sitting room. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Some might consider this historic hotel a bit dated but it has tons of charm. Others have complained that they have “downgraded” their breakfast offerings but we found the pastries and coffee to be a perfect start to the day. Daily wine offering “meh” but Oreos and milk before bed gave us nostalgic smiles. Our room and bathroom were spotless and I loved the oversized tub. We’ll be back!
