The staff in the bar that we spoke to had little knowledge of the wine list and the service was terrible

From the moment we arrived, the service was wonderful. The concierge who greeted us at the car was so welcoming and helpful, guiding us where to park and making us feel immediately looked after. The hotel itself was immaculate, and our room in the King Charles was absolutely fantastic, luxurious, beautifully presented, and exceptionally clean. We also thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. The food was absolutely delicious, and compliments to the chef for such a wonderful dining experience. The ambience was lovely, and the restaurant staff were all so polite, attentive, and friendly throughout the evening. We also loved the beautiful Cotswold surroundings and the location of the hotel. During our stay we visited Broadway Tower, which was wonderful, and it was also ideal being only around a 30-minute drive from Stratford-upon-Avon, allowing us to enjoy visiting Shakespeare’s beautiful hometown as well. Breakfast was also very good, unfortunately my husband became unwell during the morning and was sick, which meant we sadly had to cancel our afternoon tea. Because of this, we are unable to comment on that experience. Overall, we had a truly lovely stay and wanted to thank everyone involved for their kindness and hospitality.

It was relaxing, comfortable. Staff were great. Dog literally welcome everywhere. Bar excellent. Food was fantastic. The dog getting his own sausage on a couple of mornings at breakfast was a great touch!

Very disappointing service in the restaurant and bar. Staff were inattentive, often chatting with each other instead of managing orders, leading to long waits, forgotten items, and wrong dishes. When mistakes happened, the team was entirely unapologetic. Hotel policies are also poorly communicated and inconsistently enforced. We were told we couldn't order food on the terrace and had to move inside, yet later saw another guest being served meals outdoors. The lack of training and care from the staff really impacted our stay.

Superlative and historic setting, exemplary service. Could not have been better.
