"A relaxing stay in a beautiful old Hall"

A wonderful property with that special country house feel. Very friendly and obliging staff. Although the grounds extend to the A64 road there is no traffic noise inside the property. We loved our cosy room in the courtyard annex a short distance from the Hall. Very good choice for breakfast.

Drinks are expensive.

"Good but not great."

Beautiful building and grounds, good standard of food at dinner. Staff friendly and genial. Complimentary upgrade was a nice touch.

The spa is not of the standard required; facilities are very tired looking, with plastic loungers and formica fittings in the treatment rooms. Decor is very traditional, particularly the bathrooms which don't have proper showers, just an over-bath head, and won't be to the liking of some. F&B needs review: dinner, while tasty was small in portion size, drink charges were extortionate. To charge £30 for breakfast and neither have oat milk nor be able to prepare a decent espresso is, again, not an acceptable standard. A night's stay B&B with dinner in the restaurant and two 50 minute treatments came to nearly £800 between us.

"Like travelling back in time but in a good way."

What an amazing hotel. It’s like stepping back to Downton times. We were upgraded to a suite. Spa small but excellent. Food first class in panelled dining room. Felt like luxery.
