Holiday Inn Savannah South - I-95 Gateway by IHG

It was clean

No pool and that was not advertised and I drove 7 hours expecting a pool.

Location off I-95 was easily accessible with several choices of places to eat without having to travel. Having recently been remodeled the facility was extremely clean. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about the area and recommended several places for us to attend. They were spot on with their recommendations and best places to park for the handicapped accessibility we needed. The beds were very comfortable.

The facility advertised with a pool, but upon arriving due to recent renovations the pool had been demolished. A nice patio setting was placed where the pool was, but we had booked our reservations on knowledge of a swimming pool and would have chosen another facility if we knew that before we registered. When traveling on vacation with kids they need something to wear off the built up energy. The guest bathrooms water faucets see to close to the back of the sink causing for the water to puddle up on the sink under the faucet. This also caused the water to flow around the sink. There was no one on staff at night for necessary maintenance such as a toilet that wouldn’t flush.

Clean and location great!

The staff was great with what they had to work with. Water pressure was good. Tre Barnes, the assistant manager, was excellent apologizing to all visitors while the owner walked around ignoring the chaos around him.

Once we arrived, it was obvious the hotel was not ready to open. It had gone through a renovation. No continental breakfast, no bar, no restaurant. No trash cans on the premises. No soap in public bathrooms. Reservations was for 3 people, including a sofa bed. Had to retrieve linen and make that bed myself. Needed to ask for towels, toilet paper. Elevators were not working one day and we were on the third floor. There were no phones in the room and if you had an issue, you had to walk down to the front desk. The smoke detector was wrapped in shrink wrap and when I mentioned it was a Fire Marshall violation, nothing was done. Overall the hotel tried to open early for a holiday weekend and overcharged its customers with the full rate when none of the amenities were available.

No free breakfast included like HI Express includes. Good location off Rt 95.

No free breakfast or 24 hour coffee in lobby. Hotel under renovation so appearance at front. Should br ok when remodeling is done.
