Il vecchio e il mare

Camera impeccabile, pulita e dotata dei principali confort. Colazione all’italiana con vista porto. Buona selezione di cornetti freschi di panificio, frutta, yogurt e ottimo caffè. A rendere il soggiorno ancora meglio l’ospitalità, la cordialità, la disponibilità e i consigli dell’host Giuseppe!

La ubicación está ligeramente fuera del centro (10 min andando) y esto al final nos ha gustado y nos ha venido bien para así estar más activos y no sólo comer... La vista desde la Sala de desayuno, simplemente incomparable. El dueño, Giuseppe, muy buena persona y muy disponible, nos ha hecho sentir en casa desde el primer momento. Un parking gratis justo al lado del apartamento.

Que ha durado muy poco!!

Friendly staff, beautiful views, just a 10 minute walk from the center and good breakfast

We had a beautiful ocean view that made every morning feel special. The room was clean, comfortable, and cozy throughout our stay. Giuseppe was an exceptional host — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. He made us feel right at home, and his breakfasts were the perfect start to each day. We'll truly miss our mornings with him.

The location is a bit of a walk from the city center, but honestly, it worked out well for us — we ate so much great food, the extra walking felt like a bonus!

The location is great, very close to the beach. Giuseppe pointed us to a bus company that also provides transfer to and from San Vito in the end of December. Giuseppe was very generous with the check in and check out time.

1) Bed bugs gave us five stings in the first night of our stay (see picture). We reported this to Giuseppe. He replied that there have never been any complaints about this and supposed that it were mosquito stings. I could understand this in general, but we FOUND A LIVING BED BUG ON OUR CLOTHES (see picture)! We did not want to bring the bed bugs to our home. So had to wash all our clothes are in the laundry at 60°C - also the clothes that will be damaged at 60°C. Giuseppe did not show any ambition to check whether there maybe bed bugs in the Deluxe room (chamber 4). This careless lazyness offers the bed bugs the opportunity to stay. Therefore I must warn you of this accomodation with a heavy heart. 2) Communication in English was difficult with Giuseppe and impossible with his parents. 3) There was no breakfast, even though it says B&B (Bed and Breakfast) everywhere. The breakfast was not listed in the details of our booking, but Giuseppe seemed unable to understand how misleading this is.

The view from the little window is nice. The host is responsive and tries to help however certain limitations could not fixed

- the breakfast which is included is actually not served in the picture of the property but in a bar where the choice of food was very limited (one day we only found pizza slice and salty croissant). - the room is smelling (feels like cigarette but unclear) - the room is very small - you still need to walk 15 minutes to san Vito city center - the price (150€ per night) is absurd and not matching with the same quality/level of service - the parking outside are all reserved to residents but you can park 5 min walking

Il Vecchio e Il Mare is a very cozy B&B, ideal starting point to enjoy your stay in the beautiful village of San Vito Lo Capo. The location is perfect, just a short walking distance from both the beach and the lively centre with its many shops and restaurants, but at the same time very quiet so you can have a good sleep at night. It's also very close to the pier, where all boat tours depart from. Rooms are nice, clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a shared kitchen area, where guests can make coffee and enjoy the view on the bay. Breakfast is offered at a bar just a minute walk from the B&B, where you will find a good variety of delicious Italian pastries. Last but not least, Giuseppe and his parents are amazing hosts, very friendly and welcoming, as people from Sicily typically are. They'll be happy to provide advice about San Vito and its surroundings, or even simply have a chat. Really looking forward to go back to San Vito and stay again at Il Vecchio e Il Mare!

good location but, hard to find

hard to find. Air conditioning key is glued to the room key so when you get back to the room it takes several hours before the room is a comfortable temperature for sleeping.
