Rapid River Lodge

Staff was not rude, but sure didnt seem like they wanted to be there. No good mornings, how was your stay etc. Hotel carpet is not very clean so keep your shoes on. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good, although, when came to get coffee an employee was there and was coughing directly at the coffee machine not covering his mouth. The pancake machine wouldn't work so when i went to front desk she seemed a bit put out and said she had changed it. She replaced it and it was fine but sensed some attitude there. That is what prompted this review. That and the check out when the employer didnt ask how stay was and seemed a bit put out. Waterpark wasn't open so can't comment on that. Probably wouldnt stay here again especially since many hotels in that area to choose from.

The location and facility were good and may have even exceeded our expectations. Our registration was on file and arrival/departure were totally hassle free.

Upon arrival (certainly not before) we were informed that the water park (the selling point of this facility) was not open/accessible. Luckily we are not "water people" and were passing through the Baxter/Brainard area enroute to Duluth. Had we been "water people" though we would have been totally surprised and dissapointed. The breakfast, although we did not have high expectations, was highly disappointing. There was nothing hot - neither was there any staffing to assist. The pancake machine, although appearing to be new/high-tech proved to be challenging as became the entertainment focal of the present guests with the resulting theme of "how the heck does thing work?' The apple juice, cold muffins and breakfast bars were outstanding!! :)

Check in wasn’t u til 4pm and if only staying one night was not able to use water park but for a couple of hours after check in as it is closed from 1-4pm and checkout is when it opens in the morning! Paid way too much for a couple of hours of usage! Why close in the middle of the day with guests? Wish I had known ahead of time as the price was the same as great wolf lodge with so much less to offer! Won’t make that mistake twice! Rooms are run down and in serious need of upgrade and maintenance!

Was bit by bed bugs

Pool and exercise room. Our room was comfortable

Bedroom TV was not working.

Teally enjoyed the stay and love the size of the room. 3 adults really fit good in a family room.
