Nelu Villa Sigiriya

Property looked nice, rooms were a nice size and location was close to town.

This was one of the worst hotels stays I’ve ever had. 1) There was no hot or warm water for the shower. Instead of just telling us there was no hot water, each morning they gave us the round around which wasted hours of our time and we were late to our tours. 2) There was no servicing the rooms for 3 days - no beds made, fresh towels, cleaning, etc. Even the garbage hadn’t been taken out. For a tropical place with so many bugs and pests, taking out the trash is very important. 3) Holes in the mosquito nets on all the beds 4) Discrimination towards South Asians - the younger staff member made it quite obvious that he didn’t want to serve South Asian guests and only catered to Europeans. 3)

Trevligt läge bland risfälten. Härligt med pool. Frukosten var bra med flera olika alternativ att välja mellan. Från restaurangen var det vacker utsikt mot Lions rock. Sängarna var bekväma och rummen hade både AC och fläkt.

Personalen var inte så välkomnande när vi kom och kändes ganska oengagerade. Det fanns inget varmvatten i duschen och bara något enstaka eluttag (vilket i och för sig verkar vara vanligt på Sri Lanka). Rummet var väldigt slitet, gardinerna trasiga och mörkläggning saknades, så det blev ljust på morgonen. De eldade alldeles nära poolen.

Stanza, lenzuola, asciugamani, tavoli e tovaglie sporchissimi. Luogo meraviglioso che richiederebbe un manager adeguato. Un vero peccato

Locatie! Alles is op loopafstand, voorzieningen waren goed voor elkaar en het uitzicht vanuit het restaurantterras was adembenemend. Voor de eerste keer kennisgemaakt met “fur Elise”…

Enkele kleinigheden; lekkage in restaurant (het regende fors), we kregen onze kleding niet meer droog, de weg ernaartoe was erg slecht (vooral hinderlijk omdat het zoveel had geregend)

Excellent location, with a stunning view and a beautiful, well-maintained hotel structure. The staff was very kind, friendly, and always helpful. A truly enjoyable stay

Room cleanliness could be improved, especially regarding the bed linens

Heel mooi en fijn verblijf. Dichtbij de Lion Rock. Aardig personeel. Het is een donker pad lopen van het hotel naar de hoofdweg, maar prima te doen (5mins).

Geen warm water uit de douche.

The staff were amazing and so was the view! They also arranged all our excursions with local providers

Nothing everything was perfect for our stay

A lovely spot in amongst paddy fields. Saw peacocks, eagles and all sorts of wildlife. There were some lovely walks that took us around a large lake. It was also close walking distance to nearby atm, shops and restaurants. The pool was a nice touch too. It was a last minute decision to stay here but the staff were really helpful and gave us lots of recommendations and sorted us out with a tuktuk. The views from the restaurant were amazing too. We were only here for a night but wish we’d stayed longer.
