We were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful it was! The staff is super friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet area is huge, lots of space, and lots of options. Beds and pillows comfortable. The room was clean and just perfect for what we needed. We visit Dayton from North Iowa, so this is kind of our halfway-ish spot on the way home. This is the first time we've stayed here, and it will be our go-to spot from now on. One thing that's great aside from what I already mentioned is that right down the road just a few minutes is a super cute coffee shop with a great vibe and tons of awesome coffee. If you are looking for something mega fancy, this hotel might not be your vibe, but if you don't mind a slightly older building with character, this is perfect. They even have slot machines and things (we didn't utilize) in the spacious lobby.

It's a bit far to restaurants after an already long drive, so we opted to Doordash. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind that there isn't a restaurant within walking distance (that we saw anyway). My only suggestion would be to add a non-dairy plant-based option to the breakfast. I always love when I go to a hotel and they have some oatmilk or a coconut yogurt or something for me aside from just an oatmeal packet. I was definitely fine with my oatmeal and banana, but a little plant milk for my coffee would have been awesome.
