Location to benchmark Arena & easy to get to / from Highway. Breakfast was ok too & parking just across the road was helpful. Shower was quite good. Friendly staff.

Sofa bed not made up on arrival or even after asking when got there & had to request pillows. Traffic noise was quite loud even with ear plugs in (3rd for room at front). No response to messages sent to Hotel before arrival (via Booking.com) so had to phone a few times to get an answer to questions. Proper cutlery would have been nice for breakfast instead of plastic

"Great staff but poor customer service"

I stayed at the Residence Inn Tampa Downtown for three nights during a convention. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, which I appreciated. However, I encountered a major issue that left a lasting negative impression. One evening after dinner, I returned to find my room door wouldn’t open due to a malfunction. I had to wait nearly two hours for it to be resolved. While the staff remained courteous, it was late, I was tired, and the situation was extremely inconvenient. What’s more disappointing is that I was told I would receive points as compensation— and I never received any follow-up, points, or even an apology. This lack of accountability and recognition of loyal guests is unacceptable. I expected better from a Marriott property. Friendly staff alone can’t make up for poor customer service and broken promises. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves how they handle such situations in the future.

Room could have been cleaner, had to have my sheets changed due to killing a bug on it. tub was not cleaned and toilet had to be fixed by maintenance. Tv did not work in one of the bedrooms and maintenance never came after front desk said would send someone
