Castletroy Park Hotel Suites

The staff make this hotel. They are very welcoming and always go out of their way to make your experience better. The rooms were very clean and comfortable..lovely bedding and soft comfortable pillows. Bathrooms very clean and bright. Breakfast area and bar area furnished lovely and too a very hight spec. Bar menu at night is varied and priced accordingly and very tasty. Hotel is very close to Ul which suited us as we were there for a football tournament. Would love an excuse to return again.

Breakfast was hit and miss for me. There was everything you could want but one or two mornings I just ended up having toast and tea as the eggs and bacon were not very inviting but when your at a hotel for a longer stay than usual breakfast can be become a little repetitive anyway.

The terrace suite was very spacious and well equipped.

Beds were 2 single beds pushed together if they were replaced with a proper queen or king beds the suite would be perfect.,

Okay, a 3 you ask? Let me explain. The room was absolutely wonderful. Air conditioning, soak tub, 2 huge beds, kitchenette and anything you might want in a place to stay. However, some of the staff, primarily in the restaurant and bar were rude. We started for dinner our first evening in the restaurant and were told they were just setting up for dinner at around 8PM. We then decided to try the bar. However, there are numerous entrances to the bar, with no clear designated entrance. A young lady greeted us at one of the openings that could have been an entrance. She led us to a table and laid the menus down and walked away. In the south of the U.S. we are used to a, “here ya go” or “your server will be right with you.” Or anything. The table was wobbly as well. Our food arrived very quickly. The same young lady that seated us took our order. She never checked on us, as we are accustomed to. The next morning, after we were informed at the restaurant we didn’t get breakfast with our stay. We inquired at the front desk and the manager allowed us to pay for breakfast and escorted us back, where I watched one of the servers look at another and they rolled their eyes. My word, it was a buffet and not like we were going to cause them much work. However this is a prime reason not to pay salaries to servers that limit their need to work for a gratuity. Of all our hotels this is the only one we might not return to. Hospitality means something to us.
