Hotel Zum Bürgergarten

Nice friendly people and good service .

The Old Lady and The Gentleman at the reception were exceptionally good and helped us to get settled down. The rooms were well furnished and sufficiently spacious. The location is so convenient and very close to the center. The restaurant and food is wonderful.

The only thing I noticed was less flexibility when we asked for something from their bar and kitchen though that time it was open. it could have been easily done but we got a straight NO.

A very 'authentic' place, low ceilings and somewhat at the edge of town, which is a jewel in the Harz. There is a restaurant directly at the hotel.

Half-heartidly renovated, bathroom and especially the shower sub-standard. The restaurant closes pretty early and after walking through town I got the impression that there might be better places to stay.

Das Hotelzimmer war sehr ordentlich, das Nasszelle auf aktuellen Stand, die Matratze angenehm hart, d.h. nicht durchgelegen, wie ich es aus vielen anderen Hotels kenne. Stolberg selbst strahlt eine historische Aura aus und ist fotografisch ein Quell an Motiven.

The breakfast and location were excellent, we had had a long journey from Holland to get here, it was about 35 miles from the autobahn and a welcome change of environment. One of our party had had an accident that required him to visit local doctor which was about 100 metres from the hotel and then hospital for a foot injury, the hotel were extremely helpful and kind, my friend unfortunately had to rest up awhile and wait for the RAC recovery and flight home which took a couple of days to organise, meanwhile local doctor and nurses were brilliant. We loved the hearty food and beer, probably not so good for vegans. There is secure parking nearby if needed.
