The Bulkeley Hotel

Lady behind the bar was very lovely. Breakfast wasnt terrible. Building lovely although needs updating. Excellent location.

Room very dated, very dusty. Casters on the bed were broken so I went flying when I sat down with my baby. They did provide a room swap but to a much smaller room. Outdated check in process. Overall disappointing stay, could be a very special hotel but needs investment. Location saves it.

The room was luxurious and comfortable, and had all the accessories you would expect. There was a bath, which was an unexpected bonus, and the shower had good water flow. We were very lucky to get a space in the on-site car park, and the location was great - very close to the castle and all the local facilities. Staff were friendly, and it was good that several of them were Welsh-speaking.

It was a very warm night, so we had to open the window to get some air in, and there was a fair bit of traffic noise. The beds were a bit soft for us, but we appreciate that's a personal preference. When we checked in, the only later time we could pick for breakfast was 9.45, which suited us fine, but unfortunately, quite a few things (such as the pastries) seemed to have run out by then, and the buffet selection was not as impressive as in most other hotels at this level.

Location, room, staff and food was really great. Special thanks to Josh, Holly (and those who were helping) and Linda for making our meal times even better. Everyone was so helpful and pleasant. Food was excellent. Also thanks for the complementary bottle of wine on our last evening for our anniversary. Hotel has just been taken over by new owners so trust that it will be upgraded as it needs some tlc and that they treat the current staff well.

Cleanliness of the room in general. Could do with a good dusting.

Great room considering we had our dog with us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Shower lacked power.

The location was perfect, as it was within walking distance of the venue where we were performing

The new management is introducing “efficiency measures” that have removed features that were the hotel’s usp, such as the shoe polisher. The reduced menu for b&b residents felt like discrimination, especially as the prices have gone up so much. We have stayed there many times, but this may be the last.
