Pier 5 Hotel Baltimore

When checking in wasn’t given any information about the WiFi, parking or how the continental breakfast worked. Everytime you want to take an elevator it has to be called down to lobby. Room was huge but the carpet and furniture have seem better days. Furniture layout was lacking for the huge room. Electric outlets were no where near furniture so charging electronics were on the floor. We had great views of the Harbour. This property is pet friendly with just a 75. fee. They offered us dog treats, water and doggy bags. Continental breakfast was a let down for the charge that it was. They offer happy hour which is a nice surprise. Would stay again because of location and being pet friendly.

Comfy beds, room didn’t feel crowded even with 4 people, and in an excellent location. Easy to walk to many destinations and restaurants. Didn’t pay for a room with a view yet got one with a partial of the harbor.

The room we were assigned was right beside the outdoor HVAC units which were noticeably loud even in the room with the door closed. If you sleep with ear plugs, it helps.

The elevator did not work for our entire stay of 3 nights. There were at least three occasions when there was no one at the front desk to let us on the elevator. I had to call the front desk to get someone to show up. On one occasion I had to call multiple times. Outlets in the room were loose & faulty. The chargers kept getting dislodged & devices would not charge. And the charging block got so hot, we were afraid it would start a fire. At least one cabinet door was falling off the hinges. So we were not able to use the storage. Towels were like sandpaper. No exaggeration. The towels literally scratched our faces. We did request new towels which were better. No hot water on our last day. We could not take showers. The last straw! Ant the hotel manager T. Jackson did not even have the decency to respond to my email.

Location

The location was perfect! Walking distance to everything the inner harbor has to offer. The hotel is visually appealing, the bed was comfortable and 2 restaurants located at the hotel.

The bathroom needs updating. Toilet seat was falling off, on Friday night the water pressure was low and water was warm, never got hot. On Saturday there was no hot water and Sunday morning still no hot water. Then when we checked out at 8am there was a 5k run that shut down the road leading off of the pier, the hotel staff did not post this information and we were stuck in the parking lot for an hour waiting for the runners to go by before the road would open up.
