Microtel Inn and Suites Independence

They recently remodeled and while some of the fixtures were “cute” they weren’t terribly functional. There were two of us on a queen size bed and it only had two pillows. When we asked for more they said they “didn’t have any” although mysteriously one more showed up after our room was cleaned the next day. Also, we only got two very small bath towels the first day which, also were added to by two additional towels after that first day but they were almost like oversized hand towels. The continental breakfast is really not even worth the fact that it is included in your stay. The offerings were minimal and what was there just wasn’t very good. Some positive notes are: despite the location near a major road and a Walmart it was reasonably quiet. And the parking lot was full of work vehicles from workers staying there but they weren’t loud or disruptive. Also the staff was friendly if not necessarily helpful.

I expected a hot breakfast with Greek yogurt such as offered by hotels of a similar type. Unfortunately, there wasn't many hot options. Really would have liked eggs and bacon... Comfort inn it is I guess.

Room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable.

It was nice and clean. No closet or luggage stand. Mattress was extra firm.

The Microtel staff were very accommodating and they were considerate with extra towels and appliances

Good location near food and stores. Comfortable bed and good A/c. Clean and friendly staff! Well lit building and parking.

Shower head was too low and non adjustable spray, lighting in Bathroom was not very bright and decore look like it belonged in a young boys room but was very clean and good shape and quality. Wifi was a bit spoty.

The location was good for shopping and dining. Property was very update,breakfast average,room was very clean and updated.
