Coconut Garden Island Resort

- private island experience - clean private beach with hammocks - superb freshly cooked catch of the day - friendly staff - great private boat trip for the same price as the big group trips at Port Barton - well landscaped gardens - garden view chalets are suitably private with a great veranda and have good sea views which pleasantly surprised us

- our meals were often interrupted by the elderly yet well-meaning eccentric owner who liked to regale us with his stories. As a couple we would have valued a little more privacy.

Location, Beach and the hammocks.

Room price was ok, but 800 pesos for the boat, food and drinks. All adds up. All together too expensive.

Good social and welcoming hostel with a vibrant bar.

Currently water shortage in Port Barton but the staff worked hard to solve the situation.

Nice bungalow with a sea view surrounded by lush gardens. Very relaxed atmosphere on the island, good food and a beautiful beach. You can hang out in a hammock under the palm trees, take a kayak or go swimming and snorkeling . Plenty of books in a little library.

If you have to organize your onward travel schedule the 2-3 hour WiFi in the evening can be challenging.

Amazing resort on the island, with great beach and reasonable prices. The food was great too.

Pleasant stay at Coconut Garden island resort. The only problem is that you have to pay for everything, the rooms are old and it's clear that the owner's only aim is to make money and nothing else.

Nice island and general location.

The resort is not in a a very good shape and is not taken care of very well. The beach is rarely cleaned and the compound did not seemed very well-groomed. Although the staff is overall friendly, they are not very service-oriented and more passive. While in the entire Philippines it‘s normal that you can refill water for free, they charge for it more than a bottle of water in Europe would cost in the supermarket. While in comparable resorts it‘s normal that you can borrow their kayak and snorkel mask for free, Coconut charges for that. Beer is significantly more expensive than it other accommodations in the area and also there is no free pickup service from Port Barton like most of the other accommodations offer. In general it could be a very nice place if it was run better and if the people there would care more to give their guests a nice experience, instead of just giving you the feeling that they want to make money with every little thing. Poor value for money ratio - you can find much better accommodations in the area (e.g., Sunset Resort).

Private island and private beach

Rooms slightly dated decor. Charged for boat transfer to the property however you couldn’t get there any other way so seemed unfair or should be included in the original price.
