Ability to get a ground floor unit with a balcony so close to the beach and water

The view was great, it was nice being able to walk right to the beach. The staff were friendly.

The door did not lock, and would blow open if the balcony door was open. The lock was so bent it wouldn't latch in place. It looked like the door was forced open. We could also hear dogs crying from other rooms while we were in the bathroom.

"What did I like?" I like that they haven't torn down this historical building to put up more useless condos or unaffordable apartments.

There's a list of things.... Where to begin.... Let's start with check in; I arrived at the property at approximately 1:47 PM to see if there was a possibility of an early check in. (It's memorial weekend so my hopes weren't high. Coming from the hospitality field I understand that holiday weekends are busy) I was greeted by Jeff. Jeff informed me that the earliest check-ins wouldn't be until 2:00 PM and even THAT isn't a guarantee because of the holiday weekend... I thanked Jeff for the information and left. I came back around roughly 3:03 Pm to get checked in as I saw others being able to do so. Now mind you I could tell Jeff was having a long Weekend and I usually give grace to the customer service industry for having to deal with this generation of clientele BUT oh my gosh the lady that took over for Jeff was extremely rude. There was no pleasant welcome from her. No Hello, No Welcome, No Hospitality in any form whatsoever. Seems like she didn't have time to be courteous to the guests that are paying over $200 a night. (This also seems to be a OYO corporate problem. People are spending a lot of their hard earned money on YOUR company's services. Shouldn't your goal be satisfying them?) Wow that was just check in... Hope you're still with me... Let's get to the room. Well what can I say I expected as much. An entire roll of garbage bags were left on the vanity sink right as we walked in. (Which again coming from the hospitality field myself gave me a clear indication that they have no House Keeping staff INSPECTING their "CLEANED" rooms.) The security latch for the door did not work, and the dead bolt required a lot of effort to engage but would disengage the moment you pulled the handle. Pretty sure hotels have been sued for door lock issues and those should be inspected by maintenance frequently. Inspecting the bathroom we found that there were still body hairs left behind from the previous guests..

Glad they turned off back porch lights. those were awful when put in, everything else wonderful
