Bakubung Bush Lodge

Lovely spacious room, comfortable bed with a large bathroom. Food was varied and tasty. The dark curtains made it very easy to sleep late. The diningroom staff sang for my boyfriend's 60th birthday and he got cake (extra cost) for breakfast. The bush braai was excellent.

Diningroom was very noisy and busy at times. We also had noisy neighbours in the adjacent room late at night at times during our 5 day stay. The staff at the Bakubang boom gate were friendlier and more helpful than the Bakubang Reception staff. The game drive drivers spent more time racing around looking for lions than letting people enjoy the bush and the animals we saw. Some of the information they provided was incorrect including telling guests that there are rattlesnakes in the wild in South Africa. I don't think a game drive per day should be included in the rate, we only did 2 on our 5-day stay but had many excellent sightings when driving ourselves around.

The facilities and location are good. The meals were good especially the breakfast.

Communication about the Boma logistics was poor. We ended up being picked up late on Saturday to go the Boma because there were no vehicles and when we arrived at the Boma the staff told us that we were not on the list and grudgingly let us in despite me having arranged with the restaurant earlier in the day telling that we were having dinner at the Boma. I had also arranged with them to prepare a special Birthday treat for my husband which the Boma restaurant staff were not interested in serving. They were packing things away as we were still eating. Game drive rangers seemed to be in a hurry to finish the game drive especially on the 2nd day, Saturday morning.

É um hotel de alto padrão, extremamente confortável. A convivência com a natureza é o ponto alto e os safaris oferecidos pelo hotel são o ponto alto. Tivemos a experiência de participar de um Braai dentro do parque, com apresentações de dança e música locais e uma excelente comida, foi um momento espetacular da viagem. O quarto é extremamente espaçoso, tinha vista para a piscina e para o jardim, uma mesinha externa onde tomei um vinho com minhas amigas, proporcionando um momento super agradável. O banheiro também é amplo, com um chuveiro com ótima pressão e uma banheira para dar uma relaxada extra. Chegamos por meio de um carro alugado em Joanesburgo, tendo sido a maneira mais economica para o meu grupo de 4 pessoas. A estrada é tranquila, apesar de não ser toda duplicada e ter alguns buracos. A mão inglesa também é confusa, mas na estrada é mais simples que na cidade.
