I was initially quite anxious after booking a room here after reading several negative reviews. We chose this hotel mainly because it was more affordable than other options and conveniently located in the city center. I was already prepared to switch hotels if things didn’t go well upon check-in.
Thankfully, that was not the case.
From the moment I stepped out of the Didi cab, a bellboy was already assisting the driver with our luggage and guiding it toward the entrance. I was told to proceed with check-in while they handled everything. At the reception, I was warmly welcomed, and the staff efficiently checked all our details.
Since I remembered booking a smaller superior room, I hesitantly asked if it might be possible to upgrade to something slightly larger to better accommodate our luggage. To my surprise and delight, the staff member smiled and said he would check and shortly after, confirmed that we had been upgraded to a suite. I thanked him, and a bellboy then escorted us to our room.
I honestly expected just a minor improvement, but we were upgraded to a suite. It felt like a birthday gift in itself.
The room was beautiful and matched the photos perfectly. I was especially drawn to the bathroom design, which had warm wooden accents that gave it a cozy, cabin-like feel. The lighting throughout the room was excellent, with adjustable brightness settings to suit different moods.
The bedroom area was spacious, with a large, comfortable bed and soft, fluffy pillows that made for a great night’s sleep. There was also a flat-screen TV and a wooden ledge beneath it where I could place small items and even light snacks. The layout was very thoughtful, with a separate living area that included a couch and a study table, which made it easy to do some work. Another ledge under the living room TV also made it convenient to eat without using the desk.
The bedroom had a really nice view overlooking Beijing, which made the stay feel even more special both during the day and at night when the city lights were visible. The blackout curtains were excellent and fully blocked out light, creating a very dark and quiet sleeping environment.
The bathroom was large and elegant, with a ring-lit mirror above a wide sink counter that had plenty of space for toiletries. The hotel provided a very complete set of amenities, and everything was well maintained and replenished daily. They provided a full towel set consisting of bath towels, hand towels, and face towels, all replaced daily. A bathrug was also provided and replaced daily, which added extra comfort and cleanliness when stepping out of the shower. The towels always smelled fresh and clean, which was a clear sign that housekeeping did a very good job maintaining hygiene. Facial tissues in the room were also consistently refilled to the brim, which I really appreciated. The shower area was spacious and separated from the toilet, with strong water pressure and reliable hot and cold temperature control. Inside the shower, there was a small ledge for placing items like facial wash and toiletries, which was very convenient. The towel rack was also properly positioned for easy drying. The only downside in the bathroom was the lack of a bidet.
The closet, located near the entrance of the living area, was large and came with ample hangers for clothes. Slippers were replaced daily, soft, fluffy, and comfortable and two pairs were provided each day. Complimentary tea bags were also restocked daily, and we received four bottled waters every day, which was very generous.
The housekeeping team was truly top notch, always smiling, friendly, and attentive. They kept the room spotless every day, cleaned thoroughly, and responded quickly to any request without hesitation. Their consistency and attitude really stood out.
The hotel also offers 24-hour room service. Even though I arrived late at night, I was still able to order a meal- Kung Pao chicken with rice and a delicious egg tart topped with fresh strawberries, which arrived warm and well-prepared.
The location is another major highlight, just a 5-minute walk to APM Mall in central Beijing. The train station is just across the mall. The only minor drawback is the lack of a nearby convenience store. I also noticed guests smoking in areas marked as non-smoking zones; while signage was present, enforcement seemed inconsistent.
The concierge was also very helpful, allowing us to store our luggage after checkout so we could still explore the mall before heading to the airport.
One small issue during the stay was the air conditioning system, which sometimes switched on and off automatically as part of the system adjusting to outside temperature. While likely designed for energy efficiency, it occasionally interrupted sleep and made the room slightly warm at times, especially on the last day, affecting rest quality.
Overall, the stay was exceptional. It exceeded my expectations in almost every way and truly felt like I was pampered during my pre-birthday celebration.
