The property was dated. The staff who checked me in put me in a random small corner room which wasn’t clean and it was midnight. They don’t follow anything on star value

No toilet in the lobby.

Nice welcoming staff. The room price was very good. Large room but the bed could be larger, although it is a good bed, with good cushions and linens. Excellent and generous well varied breakfast. Generous supply of toiletries. Vast shower which includes in vicinity the toilet seat as well. Next to them, in a separate space is the sink and countertop. I don't like this arrangement (you find it more and more in hotels nowadays), as there is no door to close that space. You go out from a warm shower, open a sliding annoying door (see below in cons), stand naked while you have your cosmetics applied, with lack of privacy and a cool air from the room and hallway.

The neighborhood is quite poor/sad to the eyes. We were not scared and did not feel unsafe but think we should have booked a hotel in the mid of Old City, as you need to walk for 15-20 minutes to main activities through allies that don't look great. There is a glass sliding door between the toilet/shower and the sink & countertop space, which closes in an outrageous unsupportable noisy screech sound of drag. It's impossible to close/open it for privacy in the toilet or shower without waking up the partner sleeping in the room. The air-conditioning system is not cold enough and we sweat along the night. We opened the window, but trains' horns woke us up 3 times. So we closed windows again and kept sweating. Many areas in the hotel and room look tired, as if they were made at the 20th cen. 50's. It's time for a profound face lift.
