Mangapapa Hotel

Set a little out of town in its own mature grounds, this is a superb establishment. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable, bathrooms well equipped and well proportioned. Add to that a really good restaurant and you have a hotel well worth visiting.

Somewhat of a let down. We booked the 5 course dinner and confirmed twice but, upon arrival, we were told that there was no dinner that evening even though the dining room is advertised as being open seven days per week. Then the hot water in our room ran out after brief use. The facility was very nice, rooms spacious and clean, and breakfast very good. The rest was just not up to the standard that they portray.

Bed was uncomfortable and TV location awkward, I did bang my head.

Gorgeous building and grounds. Lovely hot tub and sauna. Excellent food and drinks. Quiet location.

Nothing much. Slight lack of cleaning for this standard of hotel. Air-conditioning and fridge too noisy : we had to turn them off.

The one member of staff on duty when we arrived was extremely helpful.

The spa was much smaller than advertised The hot tub was cold The hotel could not accommodate us for dinner.

The driveway

For the price we’re paying and the semi luxurious feel your pitching the experience didn’t match up, had to practically beg the kitchen staff to cook us something for dinner. Staff didn’t seem enthusiastic to be there

On arrival I was a bit disappointed as the hotel seemed rather remote and not near any shops, bars or restaurants. However if you don’t mind being isolated the hotel is beautiful with the most fantastic rooms and wonderful food. We had two dinners included and they were both exceptional. The staff were wonderful .
