The staff were very friendly and great location

Multiple cockroaches in the room and the pool was unusable had I very slimy feel to the water

Staff were great, especially the kitchen and waitress

The mould in the ceiling on the first floor

The toilet was not clean on arrival and I had to clean it before use. Bed mattress was terrible

The overall hotel was run down, mould was visible on large sections of ceilings, breakfast opened late, and you could hear everyone walk past the room de to the floor boards creaking.

I stay at the Monte Pio in Maitland every time I go to work in the Hunter. The place is old world meets modern, the bathrooms are so nice the rooms are art deco and every meal I have had there is spot on. Feel like staying at an estate rather than a motel. I travel for work always on my own and I feel safe and comfortable with this venue.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, special mention to the gentleman who guided us to our room after hours.

Appearance of the hotel with comfort of the queen room was subpar, the 'deck' area that was communal needs a facelift. The price we paid for one night did justify the stay that we had.

Rooms could have been a little nicer but there were acceptable for the tine we were there
