West Gate Inn Nyack

The place is a bit worn out, but it got us comfortably through the night.

Check in was easy. The bathroom was redone nicely.

The desk staff was very unfriendly. The bed was the worst bed of our trip. Too soft for anyone. We asked if there was a room with a better bed and were told no, though the inn wasn't full. The sheets were so worn and threadbare that you could see through large patches. There were food stains on the sheets that looked as if they hadn't been washed. There were hairs on the sheets and pillowcase. I asked for the sheets to be replaced and a comforter was brought by a friendly person. He returned with sheets when I asked for that instead. The new sheets improved the bed slightly, but it is a mattress that must be replaced. Both of us tried sleeping on the floor.

The room was filthy. It reeked of cigarettes and it was a non smoking room. There was ashes on the carpet behind the nightstand. The walls were filthy. The bathroom smelled like mold.

The location is really good. Staff was friendly.

It needs some upgrades. Toilets running making strange sounds and such. Older wrinkled carpet. Please remodel .
