Lovely hotel and restaurant. Great stopover on way down to south west .

All that can be said for this hotel is that the staff were willing, friendly, and as helpful as they could be, labouring as they were under an unbelievably incompetent and irrational management. The reception staff, in particular, went out of their way to find me a room suitable for a guest with mobility issues such as myself.

it is difficult to sum up the management difficiencies apparent in this hotel in the limited. On entering the room, which was of similar size to those of the Novotels I had stayed at in Rennes and Le Mans, it was apparent that the bed had been placed less than 30cm from the adjacent wall, making access to it on that side difficult, if not impossible. This was to allow the sofabed to be placed longitudinally along the same wall as the bedhead, instead of under the window as in the Rennes Novotel. I also noticed that, whereas there were four teabags and a kettle provided, there was no coffee. Assuming that this had been an error, I asked at reception for some coffer sachets to be provided. An embarrassed receptionist explained that cards were provided, which were inscribed "In an ecological approach, we decided to replace the coffee pods by a coffee at the bar. Together let's change our habits and take care of our planet"!! She explained that guests had to take one of the two such cards to the bar, where it would be exchanged for a coffee. I asked what I should do if I wanted a coffee when the bar was closed, but she had not been provided with a programmed response for such a question. I'm struggling to understand how this bizzare procedure can be described as an "ecological approach" particularly as involves the totally unecessary printing o cards. Presumably, making tea in a client's room is ecologically acceptable! While in the bar during the afternoon, I saw a similar system of displaying the menu as I had noticed at the Le Mans Novotel, namely a handwritten blackboard with tiny writing. I photographed it on my phone, and spent time during the afternoon trying to decipher and translate it. This was a waste of my time, as when I arrived in the restaurant, I was told that Friday night was buffet night - no choice, eat the buffet or starve!
