Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Hämeenlinna

Excellent location overlooking the lake on the quiet side and very near the train station. The hotel has just been totally renovated and is beautiful and stylish. It is very clean although our room was not serviced, despite our requesting this.

On Saturday night it was extremely busy in the restaurant. Several choices had run out, including rosé wine. When our food arrived, it was luke warm and we had to send it back. The staff were very apologetic and did heat up the food but I would expect better for a very expensive restaurant. Finally, there was no Sunday evening dinner available but this seems to be the norm in Finland, even if you are an overnight guest.

This hotel is one of the best hotels I have ever visited in Finland and I have visited a lot of hotels. The hotel has just been renovated and it looks absolutely gorgeous. We arrived late on our visit and we had a fantastic surprise from the staff: our room had been upgrated! Our new room was a suite with two open-concept rooms, sauna and balcony. The room was very spacious and the renovation was made very stylish. In the morning we had an excellent breakfast. Tuorepuuro and little "munkki" was my favourite. Fresh fruits and a various selection of warm dishes were offered. The hotel manager himself came to ask if we liked everything and we did. The staff were also very nice and polite. Thank you very much for an unforgettible visit!

Vastaremontoitu huone oli kauniisti valaistu ja mukava. Sängyt eivät olleet (onneksi) upottavan pehmeät, toisin kuin joissain hotelleissa. Huone oli siisti.

Tyylikäs hotelli järven rannassa lähellä keskustaa. Remontti tulossa vuoden lopussa. Hyvä perinteinen aamupala.

Kiva hotelli, upealla paikalla. Erinomainen palvelu ja hyvä aamiainen.

Esteetön huone oli siisti ja apuvälineillä hyvin saavutettavissa. Huoneiden äänieristys on huono, muiden huoneiden äänet kuuluivat häiritsevästi seinien läpi. Muuten hotelliviikonloppu oli oikein onnistunut. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja aamupala hyvin runsas. Hotelli on pian menossa remonttiin, joten äänieristys tulee luultavasti remontin myötä parantumaan huomattavasti.
