Jerusalem Gate Hotel

I appreciated the front desk clerk's honesty in returning my change the following day, as he lacked the necessary funds the previous day. It was a very kind gesture.

Please may you remove the chocolates for Muslim guests as they smell strongly of alcohol? Water is enough. Thank you

Tout, de la réception (chambre non préparée alors qu’on est arrivés à 22h). Chambre insalubre (sensation de grattage toute la nuit) Bruit insupportable de la rue et des autobus toute la nuit. Portes qui grincent et bruit monstre lorsque les voisins ouvrent leurs chambres. Lit pour enfant troué Petit déjeuner à vomir

The location is very good -- though due to construction it was difficult to find the hotel entrance. The elevator from the mall was out of order when I visited. The staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful (check in at night and the daytime clerk). The clerk at check in gave me a tourist map of Jerusalem and was ready with recommendations. The daytime clerk was very helpful in getting me a late check out and making change. The room was statisfactory. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was fine, everything worked. There was a bottle of water and a box of chocolates in the room when I arrived. A nice touch. I was only a guest for one night. Since I was just looking for a place to sleep after a long flight, it worked out fine for me. I'm not sure how I would feel about a longer stay.

The hotel is clean, but a bit worn around the edges (as noted in other reviews). The breakfast seemed kind of pricey, so I didn't go for it, opting to take a walk in the morning and go to a local cafe.
