Village Hotel Cardiff

We used this for a business event which included dinner in a our own room. Sebastian looked after us and he was outstanding. He was covering a busy bar area but went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. Nothing was too much trouble

Food was reasonable, staff helpful.

Had to change rooms three times as the first two did not have door latches on the toilet/bathroom door, despite there being a warning to close the door when taking a shower due to risk of setting off fire alarm. These were family rooms so a bit embarassing if one of your children walked in! Rooms were not well cleaned... dust bunnies and tissues under the bed, dust and dirt on skirting boards etc... this is poor as the cost of a room is hardly budget priced... Won't be sharing any photos here but a manager of the hotel chain is more than welcome to contact me for further information.

Friendly staff especially at the bar and reception.

Really disliked having to be down for breakfast before nine as I sometimes don’t sleep well and most hotels are serviced before 10 am . The room was nice but had no cup for holding toothbrushes , and a complimentary bottle of water would have been super helpful, as I had nothing to take medication with or make coffee . I nearly slipped twice on the slippery floor and shower floor .. very unnerving .
