Best Western Carlton Suites

The staff was nice, but I called days ahead and was told that we would have no problem at all checking in early around 12:30. We got there about 12:40 and was told they had nothing ready and I would have to wait until 3:00. After voicing my frustration that we had picked this hotel because we were told we could do early check in, she went ahead and gave me a room.

This hotel needs to be updated! The sink was outside of the tiny bathroom, which I found weird. The night we stayed it got cold outside and the room was freezing. The heater was no help, and to make things worse, there were only three very thin sheets on the bed. The bed was also very uncomfortable. They definitely need to purchase new mattresses. I could feel the springs. The floors were also dirty, and the bathtub didn’t look very clean. The breakfast wasn’t good either. They stop serving breakfast at 9:00. We got there around 8:30 and there was only two sausage patties left. The only hot items offered were scrambled eggs and sausage patties. They also have a waffle maker. I was told in order to get the batter to come out of the machine I would have to tilt the whole machine forward. The mini refrigerator that they kept butter and two gallons of milk in, was filthy. But the worst part for me was the fact that we had no hot water the morning we checked out. I called the front desk to try to get help multiple times and no one answered. I was able to track down a member of housekeeping in the hallway and he made a phone call for me and put me on the phone with someone. Around 9:30 am she told me that they would have someone come up right away to check out the problem. No one came so we decided to leave at 10:00 since there was no way we would both be able to shower, get ready, and checkout by 11:00. I went down to the front desk to check out and let them know that I was frustrated. Her only response was, “I’m sorry we’ll have someone fix that”. I told her it was ridiculous that I had paid $180 to stay somewhere and couldn’t even take a shower. She told me she didn’t have the authority to give me any kind of discount so I would have to email them. I sent a message to them through booking and have not heard anything back. I’m extremely disappointed with my stay here.

Great location & the employees were nice. Breakfast was OK

Very hot throughout the building, elevators were slow, and the floors were dirty all weekend. The shower could’ve been better was missing pieces from it.

Location was convenient

Rooms didn’t seem like they were thoroughly clean. Mini fridge in our room leaked. I paid for a double king suite and I don’t believe I got that.

Refund promised.

Room substandard, strange smell through room and hallway. Not what I expected considering the price. I was promised a refund.

The shower head could have been a little better.
